Follow the story of former crusader Theoderich von Arkenburg. Disillusioned with the cruelty of war, Theoderich von Arkenburg returns to the war in the wake of events that began 15 years ago while dating his former brother-in-law, Ulrich von Grebel. . An ancient relic, a broken fragment of Aaron’s Staff. A young monk named Malcolm appears at Theodoric’s doorstep and hears that the wand holds powers never granted to mortals. Ulrich becomes obsessed with finding the remaining shards and uniting the Wands, an event that immense evil and suffering can bring to the world.

Theodoric sets off on a journey through Europe and the Middle East in search of the relics left behind to protect them from Ulrich. Along the way, he meets many warriors dedicated to the cause, from veteran Teutonic Knight Reinhard von Kempten to ambitious young mercenary Grimhild Eidotl and her raven companions. They all join for different reasons, but slowly a bond is formed who will survive the road and hardships to come.
